WIDE RANGE OF ABRADING WHEELS FROM TABER

TheTaber abrading wheels are available in 5 levels of abrasiveness in order to suit a wide range of materials : the wool felt or plain rubber wheels are adapted to delicate materials. Wheels that features abrasive particles in a resilient matrix of rubber or vitrified clay are suitable for stiffer materials.

The choice of abrading wheels to use should be based upon the wear the specimen material will be subjected to in actual use. There are 5 principal categories:

Calibrase - a resilient wheel composed of rubber and aluminum oxideabrasive particles
Calibrade - a non resilient wheel composed of vitrified (clay) and silicon carbide particles
Wool Felt - No abrasive particles
Rubber - No abrasive particles . Can be used as support for sandpaper strips
Tungsten carbide - Severe cutting and tearing action

Leather wheels are used to test the resistance of materials to the action of sand when in combination with the gritt feeder accessory.
The rubber wheels are very often used like supports for the abrasive strips of S-42 type.
