RAL carts are largely used in industry in order to visually compare, classify and identify colors. With them, it is possible for various distant partners to visualize the same color without the need to use L*a*b* colorimetric values which are sometimes a little abstract. There is 210 RAL carts and they can be delivered in semi-glossy or glossy version.

They can be ordered individually or by complete collection. Coloured surfaces are of 105 X 148 mm.
Collection RAL 841HR : collection of 195 semi-glossy carts (the 15 additional "metal" colors are not included).
Collection RAL 841GL : collection of 193 glossy carts (the 15 additional "metal" colors are not included, as two other "metal" colors which cannot be make in glossy version).

Salt Spray Cabinet with the very latest Human Machine Interface !

The corrosion tests are more and more sophisticated and often require varied program options. The Ascott Salt Spray Cabinet are now fitted with new designs of control system. These will feature the very latest Human Machine Interface (HMI) operating in conjunction with a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based control system. The HMI fitted will be 1 of 3 types, depending upon the optional accessories ordered with the cabinet.
All cabinet now include an hours run counter as standard.

HMI Type 1 : 2 lines, 16 characters, alpha-numeric display, with 6 multifonction pushbutton keys to scroll through, and set all of the cabinet control parameters. This will be fitted to all basic salt spray cabinets (for continuous salt spray test in conformity with ASTM B117, ISO 9227, etc.

HMI Type 2 : Very similar to the HMI type 1, with the same 2 lines, 16 characters, alpha-numeric display, but it also has the addition of a dedicated number entry key pad. This will be fitted to salt spray cabinets which has been ordered with either a Time Stop Facility and/or Condensation Humidity Test facility.

HMI Type 3 : This HMI features a fully pixelated "touch" activated screen and a menu driven command structure enabling it to be readily programmed for automatic testing to modified salt spray test standards such as ASTM G85 Annexes A2 (MASTMAASIS), A3 (SWAAT), A5 (PROHESION). This HMI is the same as now fitted to Ascott cyclic corrosion test cabinets, but the cabinet functionality is not the same.

Standardized salt for Salt spray Tests

In order to guarantee reliable tests of corrosion by respecting the international standards, it is important to use specific sodium chloride to carry out the salt solution. It is however difficult to get " small " quantities of salt from the manufacturers. The Brookfield cone&plate CAP1000 proved for a long time its effectiveness in the paint industry. It was conceived to carry out quick single-point measurements of viscosity at 10.000 s-1 corresponding to the pressure applied to a painting during a brush application. Its ease of use, the small quantity of product needed, the quick temperature control and the facility of cleaning made it a tool for fast and effective control in production or lab.

This system specifically developped for the paint industry however found new applications in some other industries. But the shear rate applied (10.000 s-1) was sometimes not representative for products that are manipulated according to constraints far different from the "brush" application.

CAP1000+ System can now be factory configured to answer your needs. We can now deliver a single speed viscosimeter with a fixed shear rate from 10 s-1 to 12.000 s-1. The 10 different cones allow to adapt the measurable viscosity range .
The CAP1000+ exists according to two configurations of temperature adjustment : +5 with +75°C or +50 with +235°C.

Standard zirconium glass beads SiliBeads ZY

With this type of bead a successful high energy grinding media has been produced with the aim to reduce contamination of the end product during the grinding operation. The specific weight >6 g/cm3 is the source of the enormous grinding energy in the mill, resulting in reduced grinding times which is 10 to 20 times lower than with the usual grinding media available on the market made of zircon silicate.
